    Howdy guys!
I'm a new registered user, but I've been lurking on the forums forever now.
A few months ago I was using a Logitech wireless optical mouse that plugged into a USB port. I started to get a "Power surge on hub port" message and no matter how many times I reset the device, the message would continue to pop up. Considering that the mouse was the only thing plugged into a USB port, I figured that was causing the problem so I promptly stopped using it. Even after I unplugged the mouse, rebooted and used the standard track-ball mouse again I still get the power surge message. Nothing is plugged into any of my USB ports, so I cant figure out what's causing the problem.

any help would be much appreciated!
    thanks in advance!

 Just removed a wireless card on one of my PCI slots - and it seemed to fix the problem! Hopefully this is the end of it.

    thanks !

Upon waking up this morning, I found the error message again.

Is it on board or pci?
Did you run everest to check voltages?
Have you looked in the event viewer under system for errors that might relate?

The first question onboard or pci card ...there are some bay openings at the bottom of the back of your computer where you add pci cards (like your ethernet card)...is that where you plug into for usb?

event viewer: start / control panel / admin. tools / event viewer ...three items = applications / security / system
look in applications and system for errors (items with an X) that might relate to the problems ...give us the error code with that error.
