    should be inline
if this is what youre talking about
Hard drive led = points 1 & 3 (first 2 from the right on top section)
power led = points 2 & 4 (first 2 from the right on lower section)
reset button = points 5 & 7 (second 2 from the right on top section)
power button = points 6 & 8 (second 2 from the right on lower section)

The only thing is the hard drive led has three holes to plug in...Thank you for your response

No No No .....not the hard drive led...but the POWER SWITCH....

    Say What???

The power switch should be the second set of 2 points from the right on the lower section of the diagram
Ignore the writing (to a certain degree) on the bit that you plug into as it can overlap and be a bit misleading.

Does the hard drive led have 3 holes to plug into, or are there 3 wires coming from the led ???? confused confused confused

The Power LED has three holes...it only has two wires...one on each end...the power switch has two and is plugged into the seco9nd set ....so if the power switch plugs there then there is no room to plug the power led

    "...but the POWER SWITCH...."

    then

"The Power LED has three holes...it only has two wires..."

Please clarify what you are talking about. A switch and a LED are different animals.

    Power SWITCH = Pins 6 & 8

    Power LED = Pins 2 & 4

(if the provided information thus far (.pdf file) is correct.)

If your front panel connector (LED or Power Switch?) has three wire positions and the motherboard front panel connector block is different, then somewhere along the line one or the other has been "swapped out". You will have to obtain a two wire connector and cut and splice the wires.

NOTE: If you perform the above "cut & splice", when you connect it, and (if a LED) doesn't work, simply rotate the connector (on the two pins) 180 degrees. If all is well, the LED should operate.

My g... That documentation is awful. I've seen clearer diagrams in manuals written in Japlish.

Morgan -- if you find that a LED you've hooked up isn't turning on when it should, reverse the connection at the header. A LED wired backward won't get hurt; it just won't turn on.

Agreed, it doesnt show which is ground and which is active !

but the positioning of the lines does clearly indicate which pairs of contacts to use (makes sense to me anyway)

I thought it may be possible they have a + and a - symbol on the connector block but not in the manual, bit slack, but possible
    ------------------------------------------------------------------

Those two statements, I cannot follow confused
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
Im guessing Morgan has worked it out, or given up.

Approximately half of the pins on the connector block are GROUND pins. Many of these connector blocks are marked with a + for LED connections. Any "switches" (Power & Reset) are momentary contact switches so polarity doesn't matter. The switch merely "shorts" the pins. The wire leads (from the front panel) are generally coloured (example) R/W, BLU/W, Y/W, GRN/W, etc. The White wires are ground. The LEDS are 5 volts and connecting them improperly doesn't hurt them, they simply won't work.
