powercolor 9600pro

    i just built a new rig, powercolor 9600pro 256mb, triton geforce motherboard apg. if it does anything vid card heavy, the video card stops responing and resets. it will reset 3 or 4 times untill it just stops responging all together and needs to rebot. it did it will stock drivers, and with the new drivers and catalyst control center, does anyone know why it is doing this?? a powercolor 9200 64mb in another rig i have has a similar problem, thanks guys, max

    Sounds like its overheating do you know what temperature its running at,the tell tale signs of a card overheating are graphical anomolies just before the crash do you see anything, is the fan on the card spinning,what do you mean by heavy,a game,video?

    Try the card in your other machine to see if you have the same problem,have you used the catalyst driver remover tool available ati's site and installed the latest driver?

    yeah i installed the latest driver, it usally runs with an open case so i dont think its a heat issue, heavy can be anything from a game to a couple of popups
