I have been having some problems with PowerDVD 5 and cant seem to pin whats causing it.

When I run a DVD I get what looks like a big black square over the movie and can only see the outside edge and I can hear the movie. The DVD is clean and new - and it doesnt matter what DVD it is. Whats even weirder is that sometimes the program will work without any problems when a Microsoft product is open - such as MS Word. The only thing I can think of is a service that has been shutdown. Movies will play in Nero - but not fullscreen and with no sound. Movies will play in Windows Media Palyer - but no fullscreen.

Its a Samsung DVD+-RW connected to an overclocked P4 3.2E Prescott at 3.6Ghz on a Abit IC7-G motherboard. If you need anymore specifications please let me know.

I have also tried the trial version of PowerDVD 6 without results. Thank you for any help and any suggestions.

    I'll check that out.

But just to note I can't see anything from the very beginning - from the anti-piracy warnings before I get to any menus or the feature selection.
