PPP ICP/IP drama....

Pic says it all i cant connect to my dial up account on my desktop...Internet was working...I wake up and power the system up the next day and it dosent work all the settings are exactly as thay were the day before....Im an uber networking noob PLZ help!!!

 

Try this:

Start -> Run
type in:cmd
Click OK, or hit enter. A Command prompt opens.
type in:netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
hit enter
reboot and see if it works now.

Tryed that already ....Same thing.....I googled the problem for almost 2 hours before i posted here....

 

Try calling your isp, as i work in a dial up isp, often 720 is a problem on the end of the isp, from http://www.modemhelp.net/dunerror/dunerrorcodes.shtml

Error 720

1. Uninstall and Reinstall dialer, network, and DUN.

2. If NT: Try installing the Netbios interface service.

3. If NT: Try reinstalling the service pack.

4. Refer to manufacturer.

 

I tryed everything.... I googled for like 4 hours today.... tryed Winsock XP fix utility and tryed every thing the ISP recommended, same deal... I just did a repair install of XP ..Its working now... It sucks when ya gatta do a repair install over something that stuped

 

hi - seems i have the same problem since uninstalling a checkpoint vpn product - tried the netsh commands for tcp & winsock, registry mechanic & repair install of xp - NOTHING WORKS!!!
