Wife wants to play a .pps file. We don't know what program to associate with or download for it. Any suggestions appreciated.

 

you need microsoft power point viewer. If you haven't got this, when you try to open the file you should get an option to search the web for software required

You can download and install Microsoft's free PowerPoint Viewer 2003 which you can use to view and print presentations, but you cannot edit them using the free viewer.

The 'Viewer' works with presentations created in the following MS Office programs: Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 | Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 | Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 | Microsoft PowerPoint 97

Note: PowerPoint Viewer 2003 registers with the .ppt, .pot, as well as .pps file extensions only if any version of Microsoft PowerPoint is not installed on your computer. If registered, double-clicking on these file types will launch PowerPoint Viewer 2003.

Additionally, Microsoft also offers two other free 'viewers' - Excel Viewer 2003 | Word Viewer 2003

ok, I downloaded the ms powerpoint viewer. If I download the attachment from the email in outlook express (oe), it works fine. If I try to just go ahead and open the attachment as i do on my login, on my wife's it says I don't have a program associated with the file, but I do. I have unchecked the oe option to not open files that may contain a virus. How do I fix it where it will go ahead and open the file thru oe without having to save to hard drive?
