I have Microsoft office 2007, running vista, so i don't understand why i have difficulty opening a docx file when one is sent to me via e-mail...it presents as if it is a zip file....

and now i got a pptx file and cannot open it....this one is for an assignment from one of my profs....same thing, it presents as a zip file. I don't know anything about power point, I need to learn ! But before I have time to teach myself another program, I need that file.....

    any ideas????

    Hi

Where these originally sent in email as a ZIP, can you rigth click and Extract the file?

If not then by in any Explorer folder window, click Organize > Folder and Search options > View and untick "hide extentions for known file types" and click apply then change the extention of that docx or pptx fiel from .zip to docx or pptx

To hide file extentions just redo the steps and tick the box.
