I would like to confirm that the following are separate entities.
    • Backup
    • System Image
    • System Repair Disc
If they are separate entities how frequently is it recommended to do each one?

What are the best media to store each one on?

I would think that each one requires storing on a separate medium. Am I correct?

I would also be pleased to receive recommendations for software to use for Backup and System Repair Disc. As for System Image I think I have decided on using EaseUS.

Backup: A copy of selected files and folders from your system, which may include the operating system itself. Typically, this involves personal files since system and applications can be reinstalled from other media. Excluding OS and applications can save storage space.

System Image: A complete snapshot of your entire system, including the OS and possibly bundled applications. It may or may not include personal files, depending on how it’s configured. It complements a regular backup by capturing the whole system state.

System Repair Disc: Media containing tools to diagnose faults and restore the system to a stable state. It often includes a system image but focuses on restoring the system rather than personal files.

    Recommendations:
    Storage Media:
    • Backups can be stored on cloud storage for easy recovery on any system, not just the one that created the backup.
    • System Images are best stored on external hard drives or SSDs.
    • System Repair Discs should be stored on easily accessible media like USB drives or DVDs.
    Frequency:
    • Backups: Regularly, based on how often your files change. Daily or weekly is common.
    • System Images: Monthly or before making major changes to your system.
    • System Repair Disc: Create one whenever you install a new OS or perform significant system changes.
    Software Recommendations:
    • Backup: Look into software like Acronis True Image, Macrium Reflect, or free options like Windows’ built-in tool or Cobian Backup.
    • System Image: Since you’ve chosen EaseUS, it’s a good choice for its user-friendliness.
    • System Repair Disc: Windows’ built-in tool is sufficient for most users.

    Thank you, Maxwell.

I now have plenty of personal IT work to do. It should keep me out of mischief for a while.
