    Hi,
Just yesterday, I removed my notebooks, hard drive and put a new hard drive. After this the notebook wont power up at all, with or without either of the hard drives. At least the LED that lights up when the AC adapter is connected doesn't work. Out of warranty repair is asking for $140AU just for an inspection. I just cant afford that sort of money. Can someone please help?

    Regards,

    Welcome to MG. :)

Does it power up without either of the HDs in place? And does the notebook have a floppy drive?

Hi Yargwell, thanks for the welcome:),

Well the laptop didn't power on at all eveb without the hard drives. Last night I was just about to give all hope and put the HD in the bay and pushed it as far as I could. And guess what, the power LED came on. I think there must be a loose connection somewhere in the motherboard. Any how I am very happy its working again. Thanks to the forum and everyone for giving me hope:)

The fact that it didn't powr up without the HD but did when you pushed the drive in hard could.as you suggest, mean that there is a poor connection somewhere. The only trouble with poor connections is that they very rarely get better and normally only worse.
