presario cmos?

Would anyone be so kind and tell me where the cmos battery is located in a presario 1200? Also what is a disk read error mean when tring to load an os in a thinkpad 600? Thank you for all the help in the past. I hope everyone is well. Mike406.....

 

A disk read error (regardless of PC) generally means the hard drive is failing. Download and run the diagnostic from your hard drive manufacturer's web site and see if the drive is healthy. As for the CMOS battery, I can't help you there; if the HP/Compaq web site is of no use, try Googling for a service manual for the laptop.

Most of the "Presario" series had the battery on the MotherBoard, so you might have to go to the MB site. This link should help http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000239.htm with regards to changing the battery. Hope that helps
