Prevent desktop Icons from re arranging themselves

Hi

I have Vista, and it keeps re arranging my icons - it's driving me mad. I have tried un checking the 'auto arrange' and thats not helping. Is there anything I can do to 'lock' my icons in place?

 

This may work http://www.activewin.com/tips/reg/desktop_3.shtml One of the MVP's may come along and give you better info on the various registry tweaks that can be done. There is a Windows Vista Tweaker, but like the Windows 7 tweak, it is limited on what it can do, especially with the desktop.

This will not fix the auto-arrange problem, but it makes it very easy to restore your preferred layout.

I've used this and it works great.
