prevention list/link

Blah
-I am not great with computers
-I unplug from the internet when not at my computer.
-I run CCleaner Daily
-I run adware SE personal weekly
-I update both weekly(if any updates)
-I got a worm/virus and my computer plain stopped working, took it to best buy, they scanned it and fixed it
it now works, made a restore point.
so how do I prevent this from happening again?

I need some virus ware?
I'm sure there's a thread somewhere to explain not how to remove malware/viruses, but explain how to prevent them. right?

Your spot on watchntv, you need antivirus and a firewall.

And to keep it short and sweet im gonna say install Comodo internet security suite.
(Antivirus + Firewall + anti-malware all in one)

I am totally happy with Microsoft Escentials free antivirus so far. It's saved me a few times when my kids decide to visit sites that they know that they shouldn't.

 

I'd suggest going here. And reading about some of the information. There are a lot of different programs you can use to clean/scan with also theres firewalls that help protect you against these things as well. I really can't say use this and that theres suggestions all over and what people like best/use. Also having certain programs and firewalls can cause conflict on your computer. So people here what you'd like to use and see if its okay. Also maybe people will post suggestions as well.
