First of all: You have enough time in the world to type out your post, so PLEASE make it at least semi-legible.
Second: Yes, get the latest drivers.
Third: Set all of your Prey settings to their lowest, and scale from there until it lags, then go back to the last good setting. (Otherwise known as tuning.)
If 2 and 3 don't work, please go into deeper detail of your system config, and how it stutters.
Also, there is a program on the Microsoft website which will tell you if your system is good enough to run certain games. I'd suggest a search on this, I don't know its exact location.

that video cards is a little lacking in, ummm goodness lol. i used to have one and it was OK for older games but with something like Prey you need a newer card. If you're up for upgrading then lemme know. otherwise you're gonna have to turn down the settings

Alright, I found it. It's called the Game Advisor.
Make sure you have the latest Direct X for your system.
Get the latest forceware drivers for your computer.
And if that doesn't work, then your graphics card is probably too far out of date. I managed Prey pretty well on my 6600GT. It was fun.

44% of the systems scanned by the Game Advisor rank higher in performance than your system.

what this means? i cant understand.
ou...and thanks for you rtips.they are werry good.

That just means that 44% of the people who used Game Advisor had better machines than you do. Now, I don't have good enough internet to use the Game Advisor myself, but I'm sure with a little poking around you can find out if your system is good enough for Prey.
Also, I looked up the minimum requirements of Prey, and though it doesn't state your card exactly, it does have " NVIDIA GeForce3/Ti series, NVIDIA GeForce4/Ti". Now, is your card part of one of these two series?

splitt3r You are now the victim of a drive by title change

an FX series is actually better than that, but really not so great by todays standards. try running the game in a low res. if there are options for anti aliasing(AA) or Anisotropic filtering(AF) turn them off. and turn any shader/lighting options down to low settings. If you can afford a new video card i can help you choose the right one.
