primary hard disk drive 0 not found -- HELP!!!

When I turn on my computer I get the above message prompting me to press F1 for retry or f2 for setup. Neither of these have done anything. Everything is plugged in correctly. I only have one hard drive so the cables are set up correctly.

 

That error message at boot indicates one of the following problems:

1. The HDD is not connected properly.
2. The HHD on-board hardware has failed and the drive in no longer any good.
3. The IDE Controller has failed and is no longer functioning.
4. BIOS does not recognize the drive correctly, most likely cause a defective CMOS battery.

Make sure that all cables are connected to the drive and IDE controller. Some cables will only allow you to connect the cables one way, however some can be connected incorrectly. Make sure pin 1 on the drive is connected to pin 1 on the cable, same with the IDE controller,pin 1 to pin 1.
