Print dialog box slow to open "56,134 jobs"

I worked on my sisters computer The OS Windows 7 Home Premium (brother printer) Her problem was “Print dialog box slow to open” After checking the print queue, I found and deleted 56,134 jobs (See attached pic) !! I can't figure out why it got that many? Can anyone help me figure this out? rolleyes

Hi

Can happen when a printer job wants to replicate itself to keep on trying to print, the likely cause is a corrupt print request and this app is one I use for this type of issue

I have one printer in the house that refuses to clean up after itself. (We have 5 HP printers of various ages). It is attached to one of my husband's computers.

I downloaded this bat file and put it on his desktop.

It stops the spool service, clears the cache and starts the service in a few seconds. He is now used to clicking this before he goes to print anything. He no longer has to wait and wait and watch flashing lights on the printer.

I believe you can do the same with powershell:

Get-Printer | Get-PrintJob | Remove-PrintJob

Either way it should help.
