Print file problem

I am having a problem with trying to print. When I try to print something, the computer wants to save it as a MDI file. It will not print anything. What is the problem and what should I do to fix it. I have school tomorrow and need to print my assingment. please help

 

What has changed since the last time you successfully printed a file?

For a quick solution, I would try to uninstall and reinstall and printer and software.

 

I have configured my computer to the black viper settings. I went through and reactivated anything I thought that was part of printing.
I went to the HP website and used their uninstaller. It says to use it four times to remove all files, which I did. I then used my install disk and reinstalled it, then went back to the website and installed the patches.
This is PSC 1315 all-in-one. The Computer is a Dell Dimension 300
Windows XP
