Hi everyone, when I press alt prt scr key at the same time or the shift prt scr key at the same time nothing happens. I just recently tried a trail version of "Snag it" and when the trial period was over, I uninstalled it and since using Snag it my keys does not work.

Do you think that's what's wrong. I use windows xp they worked before.

Have you tried just hitting PrtScrn....no Alt or Shift?
I never have to use Alt or Shift.
    Who knows.

Thank you. I solved the problem and it was me not the computer. I have Paint Shop Pro 7 installed and when I hit the keys, the image happens but you can't see it or know it. You have to go into PSP7 open a new doc go edit and paste new image. I thought that Snag it had changed my registry or something but it was PSP7 the program it was responding to.

Try Gadwin Printscreen (not in mG downloads). Saves a lot of stuffing around.

You have to set it up differently if you want to print the full screen, or a part of the screen. Not that difficult, though. I use another (old) program for full screen printouts and Gadwin for selected parts of a screen. Bazza.

I'm having this problem as well, except I don't have Paint Shop Pro... Snag it works fine when you open it and capture... Thanks in advance... Jeff

    Hi Jeff

As you are new to MG you may not have noticed that this thread has been dormant for more than five years, but to try to answer your question, when you press PrtScrn all that happens is that the current screen is put on the Windows clipboard, and there is no feedback to tell you that this has happened. However if you then open any graphics program and do Edit > Paste, or Ctrl V, the captured screen will be displayed.

    Try it in Paint.
