I know how to get a screenshot using Paint & Print Screen. What I cannot figure out is how to paste it , like to here. I tried getting a screen shot on Paint, hit cut, tried to paste it here and got nothing. Also is there maybe a better method then PrintScreen/Paint? T.I.A.

Press Prt Scrn, in Paint click Paste and Save. Give it a name and remember where it saved - it should be the Pictures folder.
When you post, click the paperclip icon and Browse to the Pictures folder, find the screenshot and click Upload.

BTW What OS are you using?

In the reply window, click the Go Advanced button.

Scroll down to Manage Attachments and click the button.
Then Click Browse, find the file and click Upload.
When you post your reply, (make sure to use the reply button below the manage attachment section) it is in the reply.

Thanks for the reply, I got the screenshot in pictures, went to post it, hit the paper clip, went to pictures clicked on the screenshot hit upload, nothing happened. Out if curiosity I hit the paper clip again, and the name of the screenshot was there, when I clicked on that i only the screenshot name came to the post.

You must wait for the upload to complete - it takes a few seconds. Then close the window.

    Great!
I asked about your OS because I have been using FastStone Capture 5.3. It's a tiny screen capture utility that automatically names the file, and places it into a pre-selected folder.
It's claimed to work on Windows up to Vista, but it runs whithout a hitch on Windows 7. It might work on Windows 10. It's a small 1.14 MB download.

NB Version 5.3 is the last free version.

Just fyi every version of Windows from 7 up has a built-in screen capture tool. Type snipping tool into Start > Search. You define what part of the screen you want included. Unless you have special needs you do not need any 3rd party tools.

I have gotten to the point where I get my print screen, save it to pictures, go to a forum to post, hit the attachment icon, hit upload, get the saved print screen from pictures, close the upload and hit the icon pin to bring up the screen, and the attachment screen to upload comes back , instead of the saved screen? I am using Win. 10. also the same procedure worked on another forum I used for a test. Had the upload attachment come up again after finishing the upload only on Major Geeks, is there a different procedure?

After clicking the attachment icon, you must click Browse (get the saved print screen from pictures) and then upload. When the upload completes, you click close.

Member durkinjt had a problem uploading screenshots. We helped him and it seems solved.
And now I want to know why his screenshot shows as an image and all mine as icons? :confused and :cry

    Thanks Eldon. :)

@durkinjt...Glad you got it working. I merged the two threads. You can just put anything that has to do with this issue all in this thread.
