Printer dupes each task

Computer: HP Desktop
OS: Win XP Pro
Printer: HP Deskjet 2510 series

I am trying to print four emails, one copy each.
However, when I moved from the first to the 2d email and so on, I wound up getting a duplicate of the prior selection. I have two copies now of the first three selected, and one copy of the remaining or last page.
I did not change the requested number of copies to be printed. When I selected Print, each time the selection was on the original setting of one copy.
That is done, and I have extra pages now, to be used as scrap paper or note paper.
My concern is a print job of a large number of pages and having the system want to print duplicates.
Thoughts on what happened, anyone, and how to stop this?

I would delete the printer and reinstall.
