    Hallo

I have a lexmark Pro 200 series printer. I am using windows 7 Home Premium and IE 11. I changed the cartridge ( refilled, which I always use) When I tried to print, I got an error message, "printhead cannot move " I kept uninstalling the printer and deleting any folder marked Lexmark, then reinstalling from the original disk. I then tried updating the software. That did not work. I unistalled, and re installed the update which I had downloaded. That failed to work. I was using a USB connection. On the actual printer, the screen was no longer showing any text. I checked "services" and found that lxebCATSCustConnectService was not starting. The error message was "windows would not start the lxebCATSCustConnectService on local computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion". I tried to start the service manually and it kept failing. In the last month of constantly uninstalling and reinstalling I have had the following messages :

windows would not start the lxebCATSCustConnectService on local computer.

Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

    arning: Unrecognized packageExtended attribute.

The following shows as started and working :

    C:\Windows\system32\spool\DRIVERS\x64\3\\lxebserv.exe

My sfc /scannow shows corrupted files it is unable to fix.

Can anyone please either help me or tell me I need to chuck this printer and get a new one, or how I can fix it?

    Many thanks in advance

PS. I tried installing the printer as a wireless connection. The physical printer was showing nothing, dead, a blank. Only once after one of the many reinstalls, did the icon show up. I installed the printer as wireless and then it died. I use a Lynksy router, and that now shows a wireless connected printer. Wireless and USB do not work.

For the below, did you generate a TEXT file to your desktop so that you can see exactly what it cannot fix?
    If not, see this guide:

Hi Max, thanks for that link. There are a whole pile of errors. List attached. For starters there were missing files in windows media, so I uninstalled the feature and then tried to reinstall it. It would not reinstall. I also have a lot of hash mismatches. I am currently downloading "System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB947821)" to try and correct some things.

Hi davismccarn, I only received the printhead cannot move error once. The rest of the times it was moving when I powered up the printer :)
