Printer not connecting after Erasing Viruses and Spyware

Ok so i got some weird Trojan, similiar to Conficker but it was something different and came with some Spyware program called Antivirus Agent Pro. it was a royal pain in the butt to get it off my computer, disabled Norton and other things, wouldnt let me edit registry (kept coming back after reboot) finally ended my week long war with a program called SmitFraudFix that got the rest of it off my computer i couldnt get off manually (got like 80% of it off already by this time) I was very happy with the results, it erased all cookies and such, reset my background pic to default, and did something screwy with my printer.

It says that printer is not connected to computer, but was working fine before running SmitFraud. Cord is working fine, connected to the right USB port, power is on. Everythign seems fine, printer is still installed with all the right settings on it. but everytime i try to print i get error message saying computer can not communicate with printer and i have no idea why. Anybody run into this problem? or know why SmitFraud would disable my printing abilities and leave no trace of doing so? Very weird stuff, nobody dropped printer or pulled on wires, so physically nothing changed, just the process of getting trojan and spyware off my comp.

I appreciate the help in advance, got lots of stuff to print out for school and cant get darn printer to work....

P.S. i dont use a server or open port for the printer, its my private desktop and printer has been hooked up and working thru USB port for a year now.

 

Have you tried ununstalling the driver then re-install after you have rebooted , if you dont have the disk you can go to the makers site and download latest driver to install' To uninstall go to Control Panel/System/device manager right click on your Printer driver and Uninstall.
