    This is becoming inane.
Once again I cannot print some documents. The Queue once more has several jobs backlogged
Tried running HP's print and scan Dr, but it stops while downloading or loading (whichever is the correct term)
Devices and Printers shows the printer twice, one with "copy 1" the other has a yellow colored triangle with an exclamation point in it.

    Downloaded again, just in case.
Print Scan Dr still stops mid loading/download

    My printer shows twice. printer.jpk.gif

This happened after I switched out my router for another. I learned that if I remove Copy 1, it removes both. Not good. I set Copy 1 as the default and have been printing since about mid-March.

    Run this http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wireless_network_watcher.html
and see if your printer has an IP.
Then open the default printer and see if the IP matches. If it doesn't, that's why the printer isn't printing. If you change the IP to the one shown in Wireless Network Watcher, the print jobs will start printing if the queue hasn't been cleared out.

I ran the program, and am still trying to ascertain what it does or what/where I am supposed to find the IP. The information was pushing sensory overload of my aging brain. I noticed at the bottom was a counter which seemed to be recycling whatever it was counting

It goes through 192.168.1.x where x are all the available addresses from 1 through 256

Above the counter, in the large window, it should show the address of your router 192.168.1.1 (if that's what it uses), the address of the computer 192.168.1.103 (this is mine because my router hands out addresses starting with 100 and ending with 109. I have the number of addresses limited so strangers can't get on.
    The printer appears as 192.168.1.101.

I was asking is there a printer showing?

If not, pull the power on the router for at least 30 seconds then plug it back in, run the program again and see if the printer has an address.

I don't see a printer listed, so will try unplug, router, plug back in and see. Errands to run first, can try this later.
    Thanks

Is this printer used by more than one computer?

I'll have to get to it tomorrow. Looks like a spaghetti factory exploded behind the desk.

Just connect the printer to the PC via Wi-Fi.

Its not that hard, the printer (if Wifi enabled) should see your router.......most printers have a wizard you could use to connect.
All you should need is your networks wifi password.

You are really making a meal of this serge!

Followed instructions on setting up network connection, during setup learned "already connected to intgernet."

Is there any possibility your printer may have connected to someone else's router? This could happen if you are in a multi-occupancy building or have close neighbours.

This is absolutely driving me to the brink of insanity. A Brit friend of mine used the expression "bonkers."
In the midst of this I decided to run a scan on my computer. One item found was Firefox had an update available. Tried to install that. In the middle of doing this Firefox stops, and I get a message Windows is checking the problem and I will be notified as to what it is. I'll not hold my breath waiting on the notification.
Anyway, I ran a print job. Printer came on and proceeded to go through the motions, I got a nice crisp clean sheet of blank paper from the printer.
    Trouble
shoot suggested checking cartridge ink level. B&W is low, about 1/8 left and the cartridge is a high capacity.
Successfully printed a diagnostic page. Don't understand it, but what the hey.
Earthling, I think making a mess of this is more appropriate term than making a meal.
If no success today, I guess the tech shop is next. Either that or admit myself to a metal facility.

What is topic on p 87? I have no numbered pages

Man you're giving me a lot of work...
I have downloaded the manual - it's in the ZIP file. Extract and open it, and go to page 87. You'll find all the network setup instructions.

Eldon, your are correct. I am creating a lot of work for you as well as myself. I appreciate your efforts, Sir.

Working Eldon's last suggestion and instructions on network setup. Slow going, but I managed.
And, voila I have a printer that is working. Now, if all that follows remains true to form, something will go awry. It is the nature of the beast, my computer.
However, a great deal of thanks to Earthling and Eldon as well as others who put so much effort into this. Allow me to get you all a virtual beer.
