Printer: only admin can print

Ok.... I'm confused.... I can use the printer with the admin account just fine.... I can use a different computer and have it print remotely just fine..... but a non-admin account on the computer that this printer is hooked up to can't print...... using XP Pro SP2...... uuummmm...... any ideas?

 

At first reinstall drivers.

 

ok big problem..... i can't get the printer to reinstall..... i need help asap...... its sitting here saying its trying to install software..... then it says it needs the file HPZIPM12.DLL so i go into where i downloaded the driver and click on the only thing in there..... and then it sits at installing software...... what am i to do?

Sorry, what is asap? And what kind of software does this asap install? There is should be an install cd with your printer, isn't it?

 

asap stands for as soon as possible......... and no i dont have the cd..... downloaded it from hp's website which sucks..... and it doesn't seem to be working now..... i hate hp and i hate printers..... wtf can i do? why is sitting at installing software for eternity?

 

Ok so it finished install after over an hour...... but now when it prints it only prints garbage..... can't do a system restore tim..... what is the best way to uninstall a printer driver? and to reinstall it?

This has more valuable information than you may realize. Try the generic drivers and see if it makes a difference.

This gives us an idea on where to concentrate.

 

How do you load the generic drivers? I'm not even entirely sure how to uninstall printer drivers..... do you just delete the printer in Printers & Faxes or is there more to it? And after I uninstall how do choose which driver i'm using? Whether it be the generic one or the one i downloaded from the HP website?

Ok.... So there was a paper jam in the printer this morning..... fixed that.... then uninstalled and reinstalled the printer AGAIN.... and now it works fine..... i dont get it at all..... i reinstalled it yesterday 4 times with 3 different dirvers.... but now today it works with the usual driver......

i hate printers....
