Not sure where this should go, but since it starts out as a network printer issue, I will put it here.

In one of our field offices, there is a local network with 3 win2k machines, 2 win XP SP2 machines, and a network printer. The printer server is in my building.

About the same time every day, both of the win XP machines quit being able to print anything. No errors, no warnings, and no printing. Both machines just quit printing and any print job is lost or hangs until the machine is restarted.

I have no idea what is causing this and really don't even know were to start looking.

    Curious ....indeed!
    Just the xp machines?
Did you look for errors in the event viewer?
We have one xp machine that when restarted after the weekend, the networked printer is no longer there on that machine...I still haven't figured that one out. (Unless the network went down over the weekend ...but, why just one machine?)
    Any other clues? Drives mapped?

Before restarting the XP machines have you tried to Ping the print server from them? Are you using IP to print?
