i have 2 pcs, networked together sharing the printer on the host pc. up until a few days ago, i could use the client pc to print from the printer now it dont work. Ive tried to delete the printer from the client pc and keep getting the message:- "Printer cannot be removed. Either the printer name was typed incorrectly, or the specified printer has lost its connection with the server. For more information click help" i noticed that the printer name has changed from CanonS300 to Auto CanonS300, any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanx in advance

    Attached Files:

  5. Kodo

    Kodo SNATCHSQUATCH

    start..run type

    \\MARIESPC hit enter

you should see everything that pc is sharing. If you see the printer, right click on it and click install.

Have you tried to remove it from the Host computer then removing it from the client computer.

I have a Cannon S330 and I was doing the same thing and had some problems so I just removed it from all, went out to cannon and reinstalled the driver then put it on the host then on the client.

shall i completely remove everything to do with the CanonS300 off both pcs, then reinstall it on the host pc and then try and add it to the second pc?

Yeah delete everything that has to do with the printer, then go out to canon's website and get the most current driver for your system, download that and install and it should work fine.
