Printer/Scanner issues

Have an issue with system not "finding necessary files" and it prompts me "re-install the software". I'm running 98se the printer is an Epson Stylus CX4600 all in one flatbed and yes I've done all the help support at their website which obviously hasn't solved my issue. Oh and yes I've tried re-installing stuff several ways ie-printer being unconnected then priter being connected switching USB ports etc. Any help would be appreciated, I've been at this for a few days now. But have you tried installing the latest driver? This would then overwrite any corrupt files.
