I have a HP4680. THis printer was working. The only difference, I disconnected all electronics from the wall/computer and then put it all back. I plugged everything back. All worked except my HP4680. I also have another HP printer connected to the puter. (it works). I pulled everything out rechecked all the connections. I used another USB cable, and then plugged it directly to the computer. Bottom line, did this like 3x's and it still spits out blank sheets. I did the self test, it prints. It prints on line. I did system analysis of Word and corrected errors, I checked register, its cool too. I made sure it wasn't on pause or offline. I plug and unplugged in case I had a static problem. I reinstalled HP software twice. As far as unplugging everything originally, don't think that had anything to do with it because I use my other HP mostly because the ink pods are cheaper, and hadn't used the HP4680 for probably a couple of weeks. (full ink pods). I checked HP data base, nothing, lots of stuff from peeps writing in with the prob, but no solutions. I googled, ditto, no solutions but lots of unhappy peeps. I know its not a spooler thingy because it shows it :confusedinstalled and on line. All drivers up to date, because when you reinstall HP checks for new drivers automatically. Help!!!!

If you have two printers connected to the printer, make sure when you print something that you select the proper printer.

My husband has two printers a local and a network. We couldn't understand why nothing was printing. meanwhile, upstairs, the networked printer was spitting out copies of what we wanted to print.

I made the J4680 the default printer, so yep, I was calling on it to print! (My other printer works, I checked that too. Usually it is the default because its cheaper.) the J4680 pulls the paper thru, pauses and just rolls it thru and spits it out. It will do the self test, and it will print documents from online, it just wont print from the puter. <<that's why I did all the trouble shooting on the system, the other printer, the applications etc. I did a trip on google and HP data base. Lots of peeps have/had this prob and no one seemed to have an answer. First thing I did was check for static on the line. Nada! Its like a really common problem and it shows lots of stuff on google, but like I said no answers. Sooo its default, its got paper, its got ink.. its got power, and brand shiny new reinstall. It makes me nutz!
