if you go to devices and printers is it there? Does it have an issue there? If not can you print a Windows test page?
Does it have more than one name? ie been installed more than once?

Nothing will print until you clear the queue. You can keep turning the printer off and on but unless you clear what it in there, it isn't going to print.

Is the printer connected directly to the computer?

I assume that you are using via a usb cable ? If using wireless, then you are I am sure, using network (just between the printer and your computer

Look here, first, TROUBLESHOOTING- DOWN LIST ON RIGHT TO
and follow by clicking next (page)
This will give you a pretty comprehensive page after page help on things to do.
    If using wireless

    Cleared Queue
Printer is connected via Network. For some reason the network connection was not detected when I first tried to use printer this time
Devices and Printers shows correct printer. Printed something from computer successfully
Set up original print job again which was on a local government web site. Selected Print from web site. Firefox opened Window Photo Viewer. Document fragment TIF file showed as document to be printed Computer screen was showing document ass being printed. Again, though, printer would not print. Then tried using Ctrl P to print document, also unsuccessful.
Went again to some other document from the computer and printed it.

From what I can ascertain, the printer is working fine on the LAN, but not working from across the WAN?
What happens to packets when you ping the printers IP addy from the cmd prompt as admin?

When the item comes up in Windows Viewer, can you save it locally then try to print it?

What foogoo suggests makes sense for ease of prints from a remote web server.
If your getting packet drops however, it may suggest your firewall (softs or hard) is blocking permissions from the WAN to your printer.
Check this, and configure your printers IP permissions if necessary, within your networks FW :)

There is another thing to consider. Tif is not in use very often. Your computer might not be able to print a tif file.
    From wikipedia
OT: you can depend on the government to use old and obsolute things!!

    I found this
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/F...le-with-windows-7-64bit-office-2010?forum=isv

What version of Office are you using?

If the steps seem too complicated, perhaps save the tif you want to print to your computer. Right click and select "save image as".
Then convert the tif to something else like pdf or jpg.
I don't have any tif files to test but I think IrfanView can convert from tif to jpg.

The above is what you need to do.

In Firefox (Options > General > Applications) change how tiff files are handled.

In my version of FF (ESR) the path is Tools then Options and last Applications.
Neither tif nor tiff are listed so I guess I haven't come across them on this computer.

After saving the tif, and playing with getting the printer to come up, it finally did. Then I figure out it was all for naught, that file did not have what I was looking for.
I queried the agency to see if they can guide me to where I want to be.
    Appreciate, though, all the assistance.
