hi guys i got a hp 695c printer that is driving me mad it prints the test page and all the stuff in the test zone but it won't do any page printing any idea's

 

it also will not open the trouble shooter

 

My HP 3930 is similar = prints anything except from WORD, NOTEPAD, or WORDPAD. Also refused to print from OPENOFFICE. Anything else, prints flawlessly.
Tried reloading print spoolers, reinstalling SP2, am at wit's end.

Next computer printer for me will NOT be HP - hate their hardware, hate their software, hate their "support".

You did install the drivers for your printer according to the instructions that came with it? Sometimes, for example, when Windows "Found New Hardware Wizard" starts up you have to cancel that and then run a special install routine from the CD-ROM that came with your printer. Even if you're sure you carefully followed the directions for hooking up your printer and installing the drivers, I'd suggest uninstalling the drivers and disconnecting the printer and starting all over. (Take a look at your printer manual to see how they recommend removing/uninstalling your printer.) Sometimes, through no fault of the user, an installation just doesn't go right the first time.

If you're still having problems after a careful reinstall then you might try hooking the printer up to a friend's computer to see if you have any luck. If it still doesn't work you may have a defective printer.

But do be sure you're following the installation instructions carefully.

sorry been busy. i think that your idea is ok will try to get my son to try it on his puter

well it now prints the printer text page this puter is haunted i swear

 

i cannot explain how but its workind fine now won't print from note pad but who cares i think that stoppinf and starting the print spooler might have done it
