    can anyone help me set up my comp to the printer downstairs

    More info needed. Do you have a router or other networking hardware? Is the printer currently connected to a computer?

    You really need to supply information if you want help.
    1. What version of windows is your computer running?
    2. Do you have file and print sharing turned on?
    3. What is the make and model of the printer?
    4. Have you installed the printer software on your computer?
    5. What operating system is on the computer running that has the printer connected to it?
    6. Is file and print sharing turned on, on that computer?

    I think the brand of printer should be included as well. Or if it is inkjet or laser.

    1.both the computers mine and the one with the printer are win XP
    2.i dought it is turned on

    4.no but i have the cd
