Printing To Hp From Win 11 Without Creating An Hp Account

Looking for a work-around to avoid having to create an HP account with the app HP Smart in order to print or scan with my HP Officejet 5255 printer. Should not have to route all my print and scan work though an HP controlled cloud account in my own home environment. I own the computer, and I own the printer, I should not have to share my work to HP, as I have real concerns about why HP would want a person to route all of their printer work through their servers. Privacy issues off the charts here.
When I work with Win 11 to set up a connection with my HP, it defaults to demanding I install the HP Smart app, and set up an account and password in order to carry on and print.
Does anyone have a work-around that will allow me to send a print from Win 11 laptop, or a scan to my laptop, via my homes wifi, to my HP printer without having HP involved? A free program or app that has no ads, or a win 11 settings recommendation?
PS. Win 11 is very new with me, and so far it is total garbage.

 

Uninstall the HP "Smart" app, then go to HP select support then software & drivers, put the model in there and look under Software Utility for the full driver pack.
Under Driver-Product they only list the Smart App... sneaky HP.

Thank you Foogoo. HP does hide the program, and it keeps prompting to use the app to steer you away from the more secure software. Two downloads are needed, but it works fine now. Their own tech support did not at any time say this full download option was available. Was told I had to use the app as the only option for Win 11.
You say sneaky HP, I have another word to describe them. But again, thank you for your help. Much appreciated.
