    Greetings!

    Running an ASUS P5LD2-VM

Two IDE drives - an IBM and a Samsung installed on the RED PRI_EIDE connector are not recognized by the IDE Detector in the BIOS.

In XP Device Manager they appear as SCSI drives and do not show up in Explorer.

I have tried to uninstall SCSi driver for each HDD and update the driver to the one supplied by ASUS, but when XP searches for a new driver, it seems to ignore my direction to load the proper driver 'cause it is not listed as a SCSI driver - just a guess. Says it cannot find the correct driver - or a better driver - or whatever.

    They are inaccessible to me.

    Why is this happening?

How can I get them to be recognized as the IDE drives they are by the IDE Detection system so I may use them?

I also have a non bootable IDE as Primary Master, my DVD drive as Primary Slave, both connected to the BLUE PRI__IDE socket, and a S-ATA as Third Primary Master - bootable (XP)

Thanks in advance for any assistance!!
