The charger port on my Netbook is broken. I'm going to use the laptop till the battery dies, then I'm gonna openit and see if i can fix it.

    Any suggestions?

These are notoriously difficult to repair, so if you are not very good with a soldering iron I suggest you take it to a professional, which might cost more than the thing is worth. Sorry.

How did you manage that?! These are pretty hardy!

The laptop doesnt have a working charge port or charger either? No desktops in the house you can use?

So, the charger port is broken, but it works when it is held in a position. I have my sister's hairband holding it down.

My dad has a desktop, my sister has a laptop, my mom has a laptop, theres a desktop downstairs, and theres the server. So, I'm covered, I just never use them.

On the upside, just installed Seven :) (was using the RC for a while, back to XP after it expired)

Damnit, never get my hopes up with titles like

    j/k ;)

Well if the hairband helps charge it up then good workaround, and hope it lasts a while, some fixes tend not too over time and the issue will only get worse, but by that time you may have a birthday, xmas done alot of paid work to get yourself a new one.

I hope so! I'm getting a summer job. With that, I plan on getting a Compaq Presario, and NOT an Acer.

Believe it or not this happened to my first new laptop - the charger port actually snapped off with just normal use. And it was an Acer.rolleyes

Got my daughter a Compaq when her Toshiba died. Seems a much better build. ( But then the Toshiba has been resurrected and works just fine!! LOL )

But I guess this means you will be posting, eh? And here I was hoping for a nice quiet summer.......:cry:cry

XD I plan on having a life this summer. Most likely won't be on the computer that much.

Laptops are too damn delicate. I just finally got mine back after a friggen month of HP having it (back ordered part). I hate it that you can't spill a half a cup of coffee on it and have it be okay! :cry :-D

Good luck with your jerry-rigged fix there, z.

    Thanks Guys!

Now, my Motorola Karma's screen refuses to shut off... I know nothing about cell phones, so I can't fix it. XD

Take the battery out and put it back in. Usually works for cell freezes.

It's not frozing. I've been texting and I can connect it to Motorola Phone Tools. The backlight just doesn't shut off.
