Okay, when you right click a file, sometimes you can go Open With >> Program.

So for AVI files, I have Winamp and VLC Media Player. How do I add Media Player Classic to the list without making it the default? (I mainly use VLC, but once in a while there's a rogue video that doesn't like VLC's inbuilt codecs and it turns green or something)

Also, I notice when I uploading a video to YouTube, if I play it at the same time it's kinda skippy. Any idea why?

You can use the Choose Default Program shortcut to browse for other programs. You will be able to untick the 'Always Use' box.

Hi

Can do this in the registries root/shell hive, but the easier option is to use Open++ a new free app that you can manage the right click context menu quite easily, just need to click Add > locate the .exe of the app you want and add it like the screenshot below, this is mine for adding Win Media Center

But you can at times, not foolproof but does work, even though your defauly maybe VLC then if you right click and click Open With > Choose Default and browse for WinMediaPlayer Classics location if not in the list, and untick the "always use selected program.... blah blah" then as its not set as default, subsiquent times windows does remember you choose this once before.

above screenot doesnt show Quicktime as Quicktime was not set to play WMV which the file in that screenshot is.
