Problem after installing sp2

I installed sp2 on my friends pc and after reboot there was a problem w/ the screen resolution.So I brought up display properties and the only thing listed under color quality is 4 bit color, there is no 16 bit or 32 bit color listed there.
How do I get these colors back so my resolution will be normal again?
I did a google search to see if I could just download a file off the internet and put it in it's appropiate place but I couldn't find anything there or at microsoft.com.
Can't I just take the file I need of my pc and put it on my friend's pc?I have the exact same OS. If I can what is the files name,where do I find it,and where do I put that file so it will work correctly?

Intel pentium 4, os:Ms win xp home sp2,512 mb ram,and 200 gb hard drive.

Have you tried updating the video drivers?

 

Yeah,and it asks for the disk that came w/ the monitor,and then it trys to find it on windows update but it says it failed.

 

With the monitor?

What video card is installed? Is it onboard? If onboard what is the model?

My god. 128 megs of system memory? Memory is cheap. Upgrade! 512 is my recommended minimum....Yes xp can run on 64.

I was suprised myself when I seen how much memory was on there, I'll definitley suggest for her to get upgrade her memory.

BTW I installed the driver and it works!!! Thanx alot you saved me alot of time and headachce's.
