Problem downloading Adobe Reader

Puter is a Compaq 5100 series wit Athlon processor running Windows ME. I had Adobe Reader on the computer not sure but think some of the files were were taken off by Spybot and or Spy Doctor... anyhow, I uninstalled Adobe and now when I try to reinstall, get a message that Download file is corrupt, try again later... I have tried several times over a period of about a month. Any ideas?

The message does not refer to it as a cabinet file... also downloaded the LeecGet and then downloaded and saved the Adobe file to my Program files in a folder I named Adobe... but cannot get the program to run... when I click on it, I get the window that asks you to select the program you want to open the file with.

 

Using LeechGet, download Adobe to your desktop and click the icon it places on your desktop. See if that works, should go straight to setup/install.

Thanks Steve... I put it on the Desktop but when I clicked on it, I got the same "Pick a program" window... I looked down the list and saw LeechGet so I chose it, the file then got a LeechGet Icon but when I double clicked it, the hour glass ran for a few seconds then, Nothing.

 

Thanks Halo... That did the trick... I was able to download and run Adode with great success.
