problem fixing XP !!!

I try to fix my xp pro using command sfc /scannow but it's not working it say missing dll to work i knows something wrong with my os one thing is in the folder option i click see all hidden files and folder and it's not working i see
nothing....

So some suggestion please.....

Have scan my OS for malware and spyware all negatif and use trendmicro online negatif.....

So i need just a repair i think.....

A repair may be possible, but should be a last resort only.

 

I just found my registry is mess up so i need to go back a few days
i remember win98 SE can do that you will have a choice of a fews days
do you knows the commands for XP pro thanks.....

 

Try system restore and go back a few days with it.

 

that's the problem my system restore is OFF but i found out what happen
when i type msconfig and go to startup everything is GONE.

Is there a way to restore this i re-install my antivirus and my video driver
everything is coming back to normal that why a few thing not working
did somebody now what files should be there so everything will come back to normal.....

Now the only things not working is my explorer folder options so if someone can help me with that it will be great.....

I mean i click the change but nothing happen you knows changing some options but they don't work !!!

 

Your could try rebooting your system and hit f8 and select last known good configuration and see if that helps.

The only similar thing in XP is Last Known Good Configuration, which as the name suggests, stores the registry of the last successful boot.

 

Last successful LOGON, not the boot. So if you've had to logon and found things a mess the Last Known Good option is out.

Anyway, it's last successful boot if you want to be pedantic.

My point is that at the completion of a sucessful logon is when the next "last know good" is created and is included into the kernel load sequence. So if its corupt at that point the Last known good is no-good.

 

Which is what a successful boot means, so I still don't get the difference?
