problem installing software

    Hi everyone!
    I have this problem: when trying to install a certain program from a cd, I get this message from the windows installer:
    "the installation source for this product is not available.Verify that the source exists and you can access it."
    The strange thing is that the autorun splash has options for several programs and only one of them won't install.
    I can however install the program on other machines.
    Im using a P4 with w2k.
    Any ideas?

    I forgot to mention the program, it's 3d studio max 5

    Can you install other apps? Can you copy the contents of CD to hard drive and install it?

    if it's an optional install on a menu, chances are it has its' own folder on the CD-ROM for that application complete with setup file.. check the CD for the app and setup file and run it from there.
