Alright, whenever I try to install visual basic 2008 express it gets caught up on installing the .net 3.5 framework and won't finish the install. I've tried installing and uninstalling the .net framework on my PC and there's still no dice. I can install the framework just fine without visual basic, but as far as I can tell there's no way to tell VB "hey, it's already installed so don't even try." So what can I do here?

Make sure .NET 3.5 SP1 is installed.
If you had any beta versions of vb 2008, some posted, clean them out and run a registry cleaner. Then try and install VB 2008 express again.

Alright, I never had a beta version of VB installed and I have FW 3.5 installed, which subsequently installed 3.0 sp1 and I couldn't have installed either of those without 2.0 sp2. Still fails. I even tried uninstalling each FW individually and retrying it after each uninstall until I had no more FWs on my PC, and still no dice. I currently reinstalled all my frameworks and retried it and again, nothing. What happens is I get a request from windows to send an error report, I don't know how to access this error report to see what details are in it, so if there's a way to do that maybe we can get more info on the problem.
