Having a problem installing Win Patrol after dling it from the author's website. The error I get is as follows:

It is a 16 bit Windows Subsystem error which reads:
C:\PROGRA~1\Symantec\S32EVNT1.DLL. An installable Virtual Device Driver failed initialization. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application

It gives me the option of close or ignore. My system specifications are as follows:

Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (build 2600)
    1.20 gigahertz Intel Celeron
    32 kilobyte primary memory cache
    256 kilobyte secondary memory cache
    Board: Trigem Computer, Inc. Lomita
    Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
    BIOS: Phoenix 3.07 01/22/2002
    510 Megabytes Installed Memory
    Slot 'M1' has 256 MB
    Slot 'M2' has 256 MB
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 [Display adapter]
    COMPAQ S910 [Monitor] (17.7"vis, s/n 004GD43AB748, January 2000)
    Intel(r) 82801AA AC'97 Audio Controller
    MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device
    Standard Game Port
Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC

I'm certain it has to do with a 16 bit System being disabled but not sure how to enable it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Wraith,

I found this info below but the link with it is not supported anymore. What I could find kept referring me to this solution, http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...w=ppfdocs&dtype=corp&prod=&ver=&osv=&osv_lvl=

S32EVNT1.DLL An installable Virtual Device Driver failed Dll initialization.

    Symptom
    The following error:

16 Bit Windows Subsystem C:\PROGRA~1\Symantec\S32EVNT1.DLL. An installable Virtual Device Driver failed Dll initialization. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
occurs during the installation of Lingo under Windows XP.

    Cause
The DLL is part of the NAV (Norton Anti Virus) suite and the error message is caused by a problem in NAV 2000, 2001 and 2002. Refer to the Symantec web site http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/2000030812224206 for more details.

Hope this helps you figure it out.
