Problem logging in to my Pc

Hi, I am having problems logging in to my pc. It will boot up fine but I will see the background pic for a sec and then it will sign off. I cannot get to windows at all. The only thing I did in before this happened is changed the logon screen.


Any suggestions?

BTW Specs are below.

 

Try safe mode. Also, how or what did you use to change the logon screen? Steve

 

Tried safe mode, does the same thing. Also tried last known good configuration, same thing. What I did was change to a new boot screen using style xp. I have done this many times with other boot screens but this is the first time it has done this.


Help! I don't want to reformat!!!

We had this problem before, they were using Bootskin not StyleXP. I think you might be facing the same thing right now. Here is a link to the thread, http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=38766&highlight=bootskin

Be sure and read the entire thread, especially the 3rd page. It will should help you understand the process and what you need to do afterwards.

I got it up and running now. What I ended up doing is booting up win xp pro from the dvd drive and and used the cd to repair my windows OS. It worked but I had to reinstall a few drivers and use my win cd key again. It took me back to the original logon screen. Thanks for your recomendation.
