Problem scrolling down a large list of favorites

I'm working on my friend's PC and he has a 6yr old 19GB hard drive. I copied all of the URLs from my favorites folder to his. I've organized most of them into seperate folders, but there is one folder that I have stored the unsorted URLs in. When I open IE and click on the favorites button, that is not on the standard buttons toolbar, I can't scroll half-way down the list without seeing one of the URLs repeat itself on top of the others (it isn't a particular URL). When I start to scroll back up, the URLs become highlighted in blue and the repeated URL disappears, but all of the URLs that are highlighted stay that way. If If I keep scrolling down the list the repeated URL changes to other URLs and keeps repeating and they just keep gettin darker. It's like something is writing URLs on top of one another and it gets worse if I keep scrolling down the list. I've tried repairing IE, through the add/remove program, in the control panel. I've tried changing the attributes of the favorites folder and the URLs inside the favorites folder. I don't know what else to do. I can go to each URL without a problem. I only have that problem with that long list. I will be organizing that list, since it contains 936 URLs.

Both computer's are running Windows ME and I don't have this problem. I think it's because my drives are new. Is that why or is it something else?

 

Try deleting all the folders & files in the favourites menu then copy them over again.

 

I wasn't sure if you were joking, at first. I did what I thought you meant. I copied all of the files into a different folder. I still had the same problem, though. I am organizing them, so the problem should go away.
