    Hi,

    Sorry if this is not correct procedure!!I began with a CD drive problem, thought it best to run through the malware section, TimW read through reports and pc has clean bill of health.

    I am trying to track down the reason the CD drive wont work so thought I would uninstall Roxio Cd creater 6 and try re-installing it.
    I thought I had uninstalled it (its not in control panel add remove programs)) but I still have the desktop shortcut and the program.

    How can I make sure that Roxio is completley taken off so that I can re-install?
    OS Win XP service pk 3
    Sorry in advance if I have posted incorrectly .

    Check to see if the program has it's own uninstall.

    For the CDROM drive, check the registry in:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    If there are upper and lower filters listed there, delete them. This happens from time to time from uninstalls leaving some registry entries behind.

    It is and its HERE

    This is the manual way from Roxio for version 6 HERE (you'd have hoped that they would have had an uninstaller that would have fully done the job in the first place!)

    Dont think RoxiZap (Roxio dont host it now but its still at the location in the link) would work with version 6 as it was designed for 4&5, but maybe worth a go if all other routes are exhausted.
