A few days ago, I downloaded the ultrabrowser from this site, just to take it for a spin. Now I cant get rid of it!

I went to add and remove programs (in the cp), clicked remove, then uninstall but when the "set up" window pops up, its phucked up, there's no words or tabs and once you click on it, it disappears except for the upper border of the window.

I cant shake this browser, can anybody help???

    Thanks to all who reply!

As a last resort you can just delete it's folder from the Program Files folder. But then you wouldn't get rid of the registry entries or any other crap that was installed with it. So see if someone has a better way b4 you try this. What's up with the image? http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I recently moved its file, out of the program files folder and into a new folder. Do you think that could be causing the problem?? It didn't give me the typical warning, saying if you move or delete this file it could have adverse affects, blah, blah, blah.

As for the image, I cant wait for football season, go Cowboys!

I would definately try moving the installation folder back where you found it and then try the uninstall again.

Yeah, so I did that and that didn't work. I could always do a system restore but I've been pretty busy the last few days, I'd hate to lose all my work because of this stupid browser. Any other ideas?

Or just try the trick of re-install the app, and remove from the add/remove applet...

I went to the link on my "all programs" menu, it gave me the option to re-install or uninstall, unistall didn't work, reinstall worked but when I tried to remove it, it didn't work. Would it be better, to get a fresh re-install, by downloading it from MG again, rather than using the little link?

Nah, it does the same thing, no matter where I try it from. I just sent ultrabrowser an email, I am not happy! :(

I was REALLY hoping that would work!
Not all programs are being listed. The browser's are not listed.

I tried system retore, but the only resore point it gave me, was only a few hours old. I've added a few progs over those few hours, will I need to Un-install them, in order to get an earlier available restore point? thanks.

I can't find anything on how to uninstall UltraBrowser, and of course the website is useless. Is there an uninstaller in the program directory?

    Remove UltraBrowser....

    HKCU\Software\Software\Ultra Browser <----- remove
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall\ultrabrowser z1000_en <---- remove
    C:\Program Files\Ultra Browser <----- remove
    c:\documents and settings\%username%\desktop\UltraBrowser 10.0 (remove shortcut)
    c:\documents and settings\%username%\recent\remove ultrabrowser z1000_en (shortcut)
    c:\documents and settings\%username%\start menu\programs\UltraBrowser 10.0 (remove this folder)
    c:\windows\prefetch\Ultrabrowser.exe-blahblahblah.pf (remove this)

    Done.....

Yes, but it is the same as doing the uninstall via "add/remove". Also, the user stated that they couldn't use it, cause it was missing certain criteria.....

I know that. If there wan't an uninstaller I was going to suggest running the main program exe /u at the CL.

BTW did you install the program and than look for the entries or did you find it on a site?

Those were all great suggestions but I found a great program, Advanced Un-installer Pro 2004, it was able to bypass the traditional install wizard. All I had to do was drag the icon into a recycle bin and it took care of it. I'm not sure if its freeware or if its on a trial basis but its very functional. I highly recomend this program for tough un-installs, here is where I found it, http://www.innovative-sol.com/uninstaller/index.htm

    Thanks for ya'lls help!

Its a trial version, quite good.Yet sometimes it just removes the entry from the add/remove and some other reg values. But good enough.
