Problem updating NAV2003 defs ...

I am currently running Win XP and have NAV2003 and NIS. On 5/5/05 I received an error message that my defs were out of date, System status stated the date as 5/6/05. I ran the live update and though it downloaded new defs and IDS, the IDS failed on post install and the date on defs stayed the same. Many times (several a day) live update has run and states my defs are up to date but system status still reads 5/6/05. I heave searched the online help at symantec but can't figure out what is wrong. Any suggestions, short of buying the 2005? I have Qwest DSL with MSN internet and need a good firewall.

I just tried it and it didn't change anything ... this has been very frustrating. It did download new defs but the systems status still reads 5/6/05.
