An error occurred while scanning for driver updates. We are not able to display any updated drivers for your system.

So, um... is this a question?

It would help if you said what you wanted. That error message just means it didn't find any updated drivers. It's not really a concern. Just finish installing windows and then install the drivers you need yourself.

    Windows Critical Updates.
--Details: IBM 600 laptop; Win2000 Pro (he has the CD's); IE 6. The Microsoft Update website scan ("0%, 33%, 66%, 100%") works and the MS update site reports there are 48 Critical Updates. However after clicking on the Critical Updates text at the left side of the screen, an hour glass appears, then the error message, "Can't Open the Website".
--Have run Spybot S&D, Adaware SE, and AVG antivirus.
--Have uninstalled from his PC something called PC Washer and some other dubious software.
--Have run Process Explorer from SysInternals, and all looks OK.
--We're running IE with default security settings.
--In the past he was unable to run the updates. In the meantime, I had installed Win 98. That was disappointing, so I reformatted the HD and reinstalled Win 2000 Pro.

Anyone know how I can fix this problem.
