problem uploading finished units

    I've been running FAH for several years (not on any team, just me). Earlier this year I began using it on two computers. Lately I'm having difficulty getting the program to upload its finished units. For instance, one computer has four completed units pending upload. I've left the computer connected (I'm on dialup) for lengthy periods (several hours at times) during which I was doing nothing with the computer (except it might autoupdate something). I've restarted the program a number of times in an effort to get it notice the connection. Any suggestion otherwise as to how to kick FAH into turning in its work? (Sure wish there were such a manual function build into the program.) In the past, when finished units stack up, they DO ultimately get uploaded _ but often after delays of several days. That doesn't seem too good; and besides, with dialup, I'm not linked all the time which can add to the delay _ though typically I link up several times a day every day, even if only briefly.

    are you running a firewall that is blocking fah outgoing connection, also if not already set this way set you fah client to not use a proxy connection and to not use internet explorers settings. Seems strange that it will download new work but won't upload finnished work

    OK!

    Here is how you force an upload of a specific WU.

    First make sure you've stopped FAH (either by ending the process or going to services.msc and stopping the service).

    Second, drop into a command shell and navigate to your FAH directory. e.g.
    Start -> Run -> cmd
    or for Win9x
    Start-> Run -> command
    Code:
    cd c:\FAH\

    Now, run this
    Code:
    FAH504Console -queueinfo

    You should be presented with something like this:

    Code:
    Note: Please read the license agreement (FAH504-Console.exe -license). Further
    use of this software requires that you have read and accepted this agreement.

    Note the Number next to *READY. This is the number of the WU you want to send.

    Now, run the following
    Code:
    FAH504Console.exe -send x

    Where x is the number you noted down previously. This should force the client to send the WU to the servers.

    Hope that helps :)

    Wow, goldfish! Kinda complex, but thanks!

    And mgpower: Thank you, too. No, no proxy, and firewall is free Comodo and wihFAH.exe is listed there as "allow." However, just checked and found that FAH was set to use IE settings. I deselected it. That hadn't been a problem in the past; maybe there's something about IE7? Anyway, thanks for the help.

    Now we'll see how it goes.
