problem when instal XP pro

this is wht i did..
1)i format the partitions using the NTFS file system with OS cd inside,, them restart the pc..
2) windows begin to load all the files and them it begin to instal new windows
3)at 50 percent instalation the(DRIVER.CAB and NTDLL.DLL file) did not install so i retry but no sucess..so i did skip those files and windows finish intal like normal..then i restart computer a blue scream shows saying a problem has being detected windows has being shutdown for prevent damage to ur computer

have had these file errors many times, and found it was a faulty hard drive- running CHKDSK /F from the repair on cd, and in command prompt might just allow it to sort thr disk out, to re-install. However, if I was in your position, even if it loads XP o.k, I would get a new hard drive, while they are still cheap.
Otherwise, connect your hard drive as a slave to another computer, and do the chkdsk /f from there.

 

what r the step to do CHKDSK /F with OS cd
