problem with a game

Its saying Cannot obtain a list of availible display modes from the selected renderer and display adapter. can someone please help ive tried everything i can.

Its saying "Cannot obtain a list of availible display modes from the selected renderer and display adapter." I don't know the exact version of graphics card because my system information does not show a display adapter.

 

I would suggest re-installing your video card drivers as a quick and easy first step. Here's how:

1. Hit windows key + r (or click Start --> Run)
2. In the 'Run' dialog, type 'devmgmt.msc' (without the quotes)
3. Hit enter (or click the 'OK' button)
4. Expand 'Display Adapters'
5. Right-click your video card, and select 'Uninstall' (Might be good to note the model of your video card at this point)
6. Restart the computer

When windows starts back up, it should detect the video card as a new device, and try to install good copies of your drivers that it has cached. Hopefully, this will allow it to accurately report to the game.

Failing that, the next step I would try is UPDATING your drivers, but we will need to know the model to do that....
