Problem with Avast

    This is probably a stupid question but how do you exit Avast? The tray icon doesn't have an exit button.

    it stays on for the on-access protection. why do you want to exit it?

    Well I turned it off from startup, but it looks like theres no way of turning it off once you turn it on besides going into task manager?

    I want to turn it off cause it clutters the tray and I only plan to use it to occasionally scan files and for viruses.

    i would advise you to keep it there. the on-access scanner can stop viruses gettin in in the first place.
